Deportivo Alavés vs Levante – La Liga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 35 encounter, with Alavés taking on Levante on Saturday the 8th of May, 2021, at Estadio de Mendizorroza.

Alavés visited Eibar last weekend having stayed undefeated in four matches (two wins, two draws) and having conceded just two goals in those four games. Less than three minutes into the game though, they went 1-0 down and the situation turned… uglier for them early in the second half, when they conceded again. Just before the hour-mark, Eibar scored a third goal and at that point it was… game over for Alavés, who never recovered, they did not even score a consolation goal. Final score, 3-0. Alavés’s current form reads; LDWWD. The end of game week 34 found them sitting 16th in the table, on 31 points, level with 17th-placed Real Valladolid and just one point above Huesca and Elche, the first two teams below the relegation line. With just four rounds of matches left to play, every single point counts. They have 7W, 10D and 17L, having scored 28 goals and conceded 52. Coach Javier Calleja played a 4-4-2 formation against Eibar last weekend, with Joselu and Lucas Pérez up front. As hosts, Alavés have won two consecutive games now, a 1-0 over Huesca and a 2-1 over Villarreal(!).

Levante visited Celta last weekend having suffered three consecutive defeats before that. Make that four; Celta opened the scoring early in the second half, scored again in the 74th minute, and that is how the game ended, 2-0 for the Vigo side, fourth defeat in a row for Levante and third game in which they failed to score. Their current form reads; LLLLW. The end of game week 34 found them sitting 13th in the table, on 38 points. They have 9W, 11D and 14L, having scored 38 goals and conceded 48. Coach Paco López played a 3-5-2 formation against Celta last weekend, with Cantero and Roger Martí up front. As guests, Levante have lost four of their last five La Liga games, but also beaten Eibar 0-1. That was the only game in which they scored and the only in which they managed to keep a clean sheet.

In the reverse fixture back in November, Levante and Alavés drew 1-1.

A 1-0 victory for the hosts is predicted at full-time.

Date: Saturday, 8th of May, 2021.

Venue: Estadio de Mendizorroza

Kick-off time: 14:00 (GMT+2).
