Getafe vs Cádiz – La Liga Match Preview, Kick-Off Time & Match Prediction

Match Day 30 encounter, with Getafe taking on Cádiz on Saturday the 10th of April, 2021, at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

Getafe visited Osasuna last weekend, failed to score, but kept a clean sheet and earned a point. That was their third draw in a row (with two of those at home, including a 0-0 with La Liga leaders Atlético Madrid). Their current form reads; DDDLW. They are on 30 points from 29 matches, sitting 15th in the table, one point behind 14th-placed Osasuna and three above 16th-placed Real Valladolid. They have 7W, 9D and 13L, having scored just 22 goals (no team has done more poorly than them offensively this season) and conceded 33. Coach Pepe Bordalás played a 4-2-3-1 formation against Osasuna last weekend, with Mata up front. Given that they have been struggling offensively since the start of the season, the fact that they failed to score past Osasuna was anything but a surprise. They have scored in only two of their last five home games in La Liga, but on the other hand, to be totally fair with them, they have also kept three clean sheets in the same five games, and have lost just one, a 0-1 to Real Sociedad.

Cádiz hosted Valencia last weekend, opened the scoring in the 14th minute, got equalized right after that, but ended up earning all three points thanks to their 88th-minute winner (2-1). Their current form reads; WLDWL. They are on 32 points from 29 matches, sitting 13th in the table. They have 8W, 8D and 13L, more losses than anything else, but just one in their last four matches. Goals, 26 scored, 45 conceded. Coach Álvaro Cervera played a 4-4-1-1 formation against Valencia last weekend, with Negredo up front and Izquierdo behind him. It was Juan Cala, a central defender, who opened the scoring for Cádiz in the 14th minute, and Maxi López who netted the winner in the dying minutes of the match. You may have already read that Cala got involved in a nasty incident with Valencia’s Diakhaby, during which, according Valencia’s French player, Cala used some offensive (racist) language, which the Cádiz played denies.

In the reverse fixture back in December, Getafe won 0-2 as guests.

A goalless draw is predicted at full-time.

Date: Saturday, 10th of April, 2021.

Venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

Kick-off time: 14:00 (GMT+2).
