Streams for St George Illawarra Dragons vs Canterbury Bulldogs

The Sunday evening NRL fixture takes us to Kogarah, where rivals St George Illawarra and Canterbury will do battle, in what is sure to be an interesting game to finish the round, especially given the fact that the Dogs have found some form in recent weeks and the Dragons have not been good.  The Dragons are still 4-4, but simmered down from the hot form that saw them defeat Parramatta a month ago, and have since lost to teams like the Warriors, Roosters and most recently the Tigers.  Canterbury were caned by Parramatta last weekend, but beat Cronulla the week before, and if they play like that, they may trouble the Dragons, despite being just 1-7 to date.  Like Lottoland, Kogarah will be a family-friendly environment in ideal autumn conditions, without the threat of rain or much wind, where a decent crowd ought to be anticipated.

The Dragons have been hit with the big injury news of Zac Lomax’s dislocated thumb, and have a roster crunch due to the suspensions of Ravalawa and Pereira, hence Fuimaono who is usually a backrower will start at centre.  Poasa Faamausili returns to a bench role following a suspension of his own, while youngster Max Feagai starts at wing, and his twin Mat may yet come in, if Ramsey cannot satisfy the medical staff that his ribs are ok.  Meaney and Watene-Zelezniak have switched positions with the latter returning to his more familiar fullback role, while Napa may be fit despite injuring his shoulder in last weeks trouncing.  The likes of Atoni or Seumanafagai will replace him in the starting line-up if not, which would mean Ogden would probably join the bench, while Lewis may also replace Deitz if he is to return this week.

Back in June, the Dogs provided their fans with a season highlight, as they smashed the Dragons 22-2, but just 6 weeks later the Dragons turned the tables and defeated Canterbury 28-22.  Canterbury are favourites to win the wooden spoon, so any win they get, will be against the odds at this stage of the season, with odds of $501 to win the title, while the Dragons have regressed to $67 chances, following their recent slide.  The Dragons are -9.5 in the margin market and expected to return to the winner’s circle, and to be fair, Hunt is back and fit again, justifying their $1.30 odds, while the Dogs are $3.60.

PREDICTION:  Dragons too good, they should win by 13+.

BETTING TIP: $2.30 for a St George Illawarra win by 13+ makes most sense.
